“I have been working in the 3rd sector for the last 25 years with a focus on employability and supporting mainstreaming organisations and service providers to develop policies and strategies that reflect the needs of under-represented groups [minority ethnic communities] across Scotland. Over the years I have built up strategic partnerships and alliances with Scottish Government, Local Authorities, and other key agencies to influence change in terms of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Having worked at CEMVO Scotland since 2006, has allowed me to broaden my horizons and increase my knowledge, understanding and capacity in terms of better understanding Equality Legislation and applying that knowledge when supporting mainstream public sector organisations. Since 2015 I have been tasked by CEMVO Scotland to manage the setup and development of services under CEMVO Enterprises CIC a social enterprise company to generate income. Since its inception the enterprise company has successfully delivered many ED&I training courses for mainstream organisations as well as delivering organisational development programmes targeting 3rd sector organisations. I have faced many challenges in my career with regards to Equality and Diversity, but my commitment has never wavered, and I will continue to challenge racism and discriminations.”
